Ghanaian musician, Fameye, has joined the online debate in which some netizens are comparing Michael Jackson to the late Highlife legend Daddy Lumba.

In a video shared on social media on August 11, 2025, Fameye established that Daddy Lumba is greater than Michael Jackson in terms of creativity.

He emphasised that he relates more to Daddy Lumba’s music and finds his songs easier to understand than those of Michael Jackson.

“Have you seen that everyone is comparing Lumba to Michael Jackson? From my point of view, Lumba is better than Michael Jackson. I don’t understand what Michael says in songs, but I do understand Lumba’s, so yeah, he is better than Michael,” he said.

Fameye added that he would have taken a four-year break from music if he had ever recorded a song with the late Highlife legend.

He revealed that he has a tribute song dedicated to the late musician but is hesitant to release it, as he believes the late Lumba himself has tribute songs that surpass his own.

“I would have stopped music for four years if I got the opportunity to record a song with Lumba. I have a hot tribute song for Lumba, but I feel that he already has tribute songs, so I am skeptical about releasing mine. May his soul rest in peace,” he added.
