Charlie Dior is a fashion critic and style influencer

Fashion critic and style influencer, Charlie Dior has expressed strong displeasure over what he describes as persistent and dangerous assumptions by the media regarding his sexuality.

Speaking in an interview with SammyKay Media on January 9, 2026, Charlie Dior stated that he is tired of being asked questions that are based on the assumption that he is gay, stressing that such conclusions are ignorant and unfair.

“You’re asking me a question based on the assumption that you think I’m gay. That’s wrong because I’m actually tired of the media doing this to me,” he said.

Charlie Dior noted that most interviews directed at him are centred on issues of sexuality, unlike other male celebrities, which he believes is discriminatory.

“The media is assuming and it’s very dangerous to assume I’m gay. All your questions are directed to like a gay and it’s wrong.

“You’re asking who I’m attracted to and if I will start a family with a woman. Would you ask someone like King Promise or Shatta Wale those questions?” he questioned.

According to him, interviewing a guest should not involve assumptions, especially about such a sensitive subject.

“When you interview someone, you don’t assume anything. My point is, these people can also be gay,” he shared.

The fashion critic insisted that he had never given the media any reason to speculate about his sexuality.

“I haven’t given these media houses any reason for them to think I’m gay, you’ve never seen me kiss a man or grind on a man so that should not lead you to asking me if I’m gay at all,” he said.

Charlie Dior further criticised the tendency to judge people based on their appearance or mannerisms, describing it as ignorance.

“You’re doing it based on the way I’m acting or the way I dress and that’s very ignorant,” he noted.

He called on media houses to treat him with the same respect accorded to other male celebrities and to stop making assumptions about his sexuality.

“I’m talking to all media houses, so treat me like the other male celebrities. Don’t assume my sexuality,” he added.
