King Paluta is the musician behind 'Aseda', 'Makoma' and 'For the Popping' hit songs King Paluta is the musician behind ‘Aseda’, ‘Makoma’ and ‘For the Popping’ hit songs

Musician King Paluta has said he has decided not to collaborate with Keche on a song anymore after the music group launched attacks on him, claiming he refused to record a promotional video for the collaborative single ‘My Father’.

In August 2024, Keche Joshua, one half of the Keche group, slammed King Paluta, describing him as disrespectful for refusing to promote the song, despite promoting songs with other artistes such as Sista Afia, Eno Barony, Tulenkey, and Wendy Shay.

“We did a song with you and you never posted it. I reached out to your team, and they said they don’t use his official account to post things. They use the King Paluta Army page rather,” Joshua stated.

“You got an artiste like Keche, and you disrespect us? You made it seem like we were disturbing you, so you just did something for us.

“Let nobody come and say there’s no love in the industry because these one-hit artistes are very disrespectful,” Joshua concluded.

Responding to the backlash, King Paluta, in an interview with Deloris Frimpong Manso on The Delay Show, aired on December 28, 2024, explained he was unwell at the time Keche requested the video.

A visibly unhappy Paluta said he could not fathom the outburst considering he had a conversation with Andrew, the other half of the group, about how serious his condition was.

“I’ve learnt from what happened, and I’m disappointed in them,” Paluta said. “You asked for a verse; I gave it to you for free without stressing you. You called later that you needed a video, but I was sick at the time. I had malaria, and it was that serious.”

He continued: “Andrew called me when I was in Kumasi, and I answered, made him know I was sick. And indeed, I was sick. I told him if they could wait for a while for me to recover, I would record the video and send it to them. Before I could heal, they released the video, and they were all over insulting me. I was shocked.”

Asked if he had called them after the outburst, King Paluta said: “I have not called them, and I don’t want to. I’m done with them. For them to not appreciate me despite what I did for them, giving you a verse for free, no! Imagine I buy a phone for you upon your request; you ask for airtime the next day, and I say I don’t have the means; then you go about telling people I’m wicked? How?”

He emphasized, “I can’t do anything for them again. They don’t need me. When they made monster hits, where was I?”

Keche Joshua apologises for outburst against King Paluta

In September, Joshua rendered an apology to King Paluta. In an interview on Hitz FM, Joshua expressed regret for the harsh words he used in a video he shared, attributing his actions to anger and frustration.

“I have no problem with King Paluta. He’s my brother… People have pointed out that I used some words in the video I shared. I was angry, which is why I used those words. I’m so sorry about it. I don’t want this to lead to any hate between Keche’s fans and King Paluta’s fans. I’m so sorry about the words I used. I have no bad blood with King Paluta or his management,” he said.

Keche Joshua explained that his frustration stemmed from King Paluta’s lack of promotion for their collaborative song. He noted that while King Paluta has actively supported other artistes, including Eno Barony, he did not put the same effort into promoting their joint project.

“The thing is that we collaborated with him. The song belongs to both of us. He can perform the song anywhere. So if I collaborate with him, I expect him to at least put some energy into it. The energy he put into supporting other artistes and promoting Eno Barony—we wanted him to put the same energy into promoting the song he contributed to. But as he wasn’t promoting the song, it looked as if he didn’t want to do any song with us in the first place. That’s what we felt,” Joshua stated.
