Ghanaian Afro-pop artiste Sista Afia has disclosed that she will return to her previous nursing career at the age of 40 after being a musician for some time.

In a recent interview on Onua TV, Sista Afia stated that her nursing career is currently on hiatus as she devotes herself full-time to her music.

Before moving back to Ghana to pursue music, the singer worked as a licensed nurse in the UK.

“Right now, I’m a full-time musician, and nursing is on hold. When I get to the age of 40, I’ll go back to nursing,” Sista Afia stated.

She humorously added, “It’s been a while since I stopped school; I’ve even forgotten how to spell Chloroquine”.

The singer, known for hits like “Jeje” and “Slay Queen,” stressed that although her current main focus is music, she is still open to going back to work as a nurse in the future.

Sista Afia studied nursing at the Reverend John Teye Memorial Institute in Ghana before relocating to the UK to further her education.

She returned to Ghana in 2015 to chase her musical dreams and has since become one of the country’s most recognizable voices in the Afro-pop genre.
