A Nigerian lady was astonished upon receiving an unusual gift of banana leaves from her friend to enhance her newly acquired residence.

The lady @toyin_gele wrote in the widely shared video’s caption that her friend gave her ornamental flowers to enhance the attractiveness of her new house.

She was surprised when her friend brought a pot of banana leaves for decoration after she received the flower. She claimed to have been given Igi Ogede, which translates to “banana tree,” and proceeded to feel the leaves before cutting off a portion.

Meanwhile, @toyin_gele was shocked and delighted at the same by her friend’s thoughtful banana leaves gift.

Viewers asserted that the ornamental flower the woman views as banana leaves is a bird of paradise, a costly and well-liked flower for house décor.

While some considered the strange gift to be a fetish item, others insisted on using the leaves to make bean pudding dishes.
