Ghanaian rapper Opanka has shared his thoughts on President Donald Trump’s personality and some of his actions since he recently resumed office.

According to him, Trump isn’t as troublesome as many perceive.

In an interview with Nana Romeo on Accra FM’s ‘Ayekoo Ayekoo’ on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, Opanka explained that Donald Trump’s actions are usually driven by a desire to understand the people in the country.

Opanka made these comments while addressing the controversy surrounding Trump’s crackdown on illegal immigration and mass deportations, explaining that these measures were intended to control crime.

“Assuming someone enters the country undocumented and commits a crime, how would the authorities find such a person?” Opanka asked, stressing his point.

The US-based musician also pointed out that the illegal immigration crisis in the states is largely due to people entering the country not by air with visas, but mostly by land.

“If you live in the U.S., you’ll understand Trump. He’s trying to help the country. He’s just making life difficult for illegal immigrants,” he said,

Opanka clarified that Trump doesn’t have issues with those who are properly documented, “He is focused on criminals and bad actors. Many of those deported are on a wanted list.”

Opanka further urged netizens on social media to be cautious about misinformation online, advising them to verify facts before sharing.
