Nigerian Afrobeat singer, Burna Boy has once again expressed his thoughts amid ongoing social media backlash after he recently kicked out a couple who were caught sleeping during his concert
In a series of posts shared on his Instagram page on November 19, 2025, Burna, who in an earlier video noted that he was only interested in fans who are wealthy claimed that netizens took the footage out of context.
According to him, his statement was made on a lighter note during a discussion with his team, adding that his critics can either kill him or leave him alone.

“Btw, I was joking around with my band about something else. Not necessarily this situation, and you all have spun it as usual, saying Burna Boy doesn’t love his fans. If you hate me so much, either kill me or leave me alone.
“I’m fighting my own battles, and I never come out here to look for pity or help. I love who loves me and respect who respects me,” he said.
The “Love” singer additionally debunked rumours that he is selective with his fanbase and the types of concerts he chooses to perform at.
According to him, he treats every fan with maximum respect and therefore expects the same, especially during his stage performances.

“I understand the agenda against me, and I came to terms with it a long time ago, so my skin is bulletproof at this point. I wasn’t gonna address this… My shows have people who have beaten cancer or overcome something very serious, and none of them ever slept lol.
“I leave my soul on every stage I get on, even if it’s only 10 people in attendance, and I will gladly be cancelled if we are now in a world where you can treat me like a stripper, slap my ass, and tell me to keep dancing because you throw $100 at me,” he added.
