It has emerged that some of the Black Stars players took offence at being scolded by the President of the Ghana Football Association, Kurt Okraku, and the publication of the same content on social media by the FA.

According to Saddick Adams of Angel Broadcasting Network, a player disclosed to him that if the players knew the purpose of the address was to share the video for public consumption, they would have reacted differently.

Sports Obama revealed that the players felt they needed a psychologist to boost their confidence and morale ahead of a crucial game against Sudan.

“One of the players told me that if they knew he was coming to record and post on social media, they’d have fought him or walked out. The player said this isn’t the first time, but the way he spoke to them when they were going into such an important game was not the best. They rather needed a psychologist to speak to them individually,” he said on Peace FM.

Saddick Adams was highlighting the bigger issue of mismanagement at the Black Stars and the lack of support for the technical team headed by Otto Addo.

According to him, Otto Addo lacks support, and that is affecting the Black Stars, who are on the brink of missing out on the Africa Cup of Nations for the first time in twenty years.

A draw with Sudan at home on October 10 and a defeat five days later to the same team in Libya have left Ghana with just two points from four games.

Languishing in third place in Group F, Ghana is behind Angola and Sudan, who are in first and second place, respectively.

For Ghana to qualify for the 2025 AFCON, the Black Stars will have to win their last two matches and hope that Sudan loses their last two matches.
