The Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Mr. Bernard Antwi-Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, is urging Mr. John Mahama not to shy away from debating Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia ahead of the 2024 general elections.

Chairman Wontumi’s remarks follow John Mahama’s recent announcement that he would not participate in a televised debate with Vice President Bawumia. Describing the decision as an act of cowardice, Chairman Wontumi challenged the former president to reconsider, stating, “Ghanaians want to see you debate Bawumia.”

In an exclusive interview with Kwaku Dawuro on Movement TV, Chairman Wontumi went further, suggesting that Mr. Mahama should bring his wife, Lordina Mahama, to face Samira Bawumia in a separate debate.

He added, “Let Lordina debate Samira. And let Nana Opoku Agyemang face Napo on education.”
