Professor Michael Ayamga-Adongo, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of the EPA, has shared a heartfelt memory of the late Minister Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Mohammed, who died in the tragic August 2025 helicopter crash.

Recalling a moment on the campaign trail, Prof. Ayamga-Adongo quoted the Minister’s fierce determination to bring him into public service.

Dr. Mohammed told him, “This time you’re joining the government.” When Prof. Ayamga-Adongo expressed hesitation, saying “let’s win first, then I decide,” the Minister’s response was emphatic: “He said Trust me, if I have to drag you, I will.”

The anecdote highlights the late Minister’s passionate, resolute nature and his dedication to rallying talented individuals to serve the nation.

Dr. Mohammed was the Minister for Environment, Science, Technology, and Innovation at the time of his death.
