Ghanaian Afrobeat musician, Olivetheboy, has boldly declared that he deserves to win at least three out of the five categories he has been nominated for at the 26th edition of the Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMAs).

He has insisted that anything less than that would be unfair.

The ‘Asylum’ hitmaker, who has earned nominations including ‘Best Afrobeats Song’, ‘Best Afrobeats Artiste’, and ‘Collaboration of the Year’, shared his sentiments during an interview with Kwadwo Sheldon.

According to Olivetheboy, his impressive impact over the past year, particularly the success and reach of his single ‘Asylum’, makes him a deserving winner.

“If I don’t win Best Afrobeats Song, Best Afrobeats Artiste, and Collaboration of the Year, it won’t be fair to me,” he asserted.

While acknowledging the stiff competition, the young artiste remains confident.

“Inside tight, but eno tight like that. ‘Asylum’ has entered places,” he added in pidgin.

In the Best Afrobeats Song category, ‘Asylum’ faces fierce competition from Mr. Drew’s Sneaky, Lasmid’s Puul, Beeztrap KOTM’s Yesu, KiDi’s Lomo Lomo, and King Promise’s Favourite Story.

For Best Afrobeats Artiste, Olivetheboy is up against some of Ghana’s biggest names, including Camidoh, KiDi, Mr. Drew, King Promise, and Lasmid.
