A British media outlet, Mail Sport, has revealed the identity of the disabled Liverpool fan who was arrested for allegedly shouting racist abuse at Ghanaian forward Antoine Semenyo.

According to the report, the individual has been identified as Mark Mogan, a Liverpool season ticket holder.

Mogan, 47, is reported to be single with no children and lives in a social housing bungalow in the city with his mother. He has been in a wheelchair since birth due to a medical condition and receives disability benefits.

He was arrested on suspicion of racially abusing Bournemouth striker Antoine Semenyo during the Premier League opener at Anfield on Friday, August 15, 2025, and has since been banned from attending football matches across the UK.

The incident occurred in the 29th minute of the Liverpool–Bournemouth clash, when Semenyo alerted the referee to the abuse. Play was halted for four minutes as officials dealt with the situation, and the fan was identified and escorted out of the stadium.

Merseyside Police confirmed that Mogan was arrested the following day on suspicion of a racially aggravated public order offence.

Police have since appealed to witnesses or anyone with further information to come forward as investigations continue.
