Ibrahim Tanko is the head coach of Medeama SC

Ibrahim Tanko believes strong competition within his Medeama squad is pushing the team forward as they gear up for their Week 20 clash against Karela United.

The Medeama coach is pleased with the form of his players, admitting their consistent performances are making team selection difficult for the technical staff. With several players stepping up each week, Tanko views the situation as a positive sign for the club rather than a problem.

Medeama will host Karela United at the TnA Stadium on Sunday, January 25, looking to extend an impressive run that has seen them record four wins and one draw in their last five matches.

“No, I think they all know it’s all about performance, and any of them who play is doing well. So, definitely it’s giving us a headache as a technical team, but I think it’s very good for the team. So we hope that they will, I mean, be competitive like that every week so that we will have the best team,” he told Medi TV.

Karela United arrive for the fixture after losing two of their last three games. The visitors, currently eighth on the table, will be eager to improve their form as they continue their push up the standings.

The match kicks off at 3:00 pm on Sunday.
