    Minister of Foreign Affairs, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has announced that diplomatic passports will be handed to five personalities within the creative arts industry.

    The announcement was made on September 17, 2025, during the launch of the Diaspora Summit 2025, an event put together by the Office of the President, Diaspora Affairs, in collaboration with the Foreign Affairs Ministry.

    The new personalities to be handed the diplomatic passports are travel content creator Wode Maya, Grammy-nominated reggae musician Rocky Dawuni, media entrepreneur Anita Erskine, artist Ibrahim Mahama, and entrepreneur Dentaa Amoateng.

    According to the minister, the gesture is part of efforts to use cultural influence and people-to-people engagement as a strategic tool in diplomacy.

    He noted that by recognizing these individuals who already carry Ghana’s name into international spaces, the government hopes to strengthen cultural ties, promote trade, and open doors for global connections.

    “These five carefully selected envoys would be championing our Diasporan agendas…They deserve to carry out their good works, in the name of the African people. And I believe they all deserve to be honoured,” the minister stated.

    Wode Maya is one of Africa’s most influential YouTubers by documenting the continent’s beauty, people, and entrepreneurial spirit.

    Rocky Dawuni is celebrated musician, and has earned multiple Grammy nominations, also he plays a role as an activist advocating for peace, cultural pride, and environmental sustainability.

    Anita Erskine has built her reputation as a voice in African media, using her platform to advance women’s empowerment, youth development, and pan-African conversations.

    Ibrahim Mahama, is recognized in the international art world, creates large-scale installations that interrogate history, labour, and material culture.

    Dentaa Amoateng, a British-Ghanaian entrepreneur who has spent years fostering connections between Ghana and its diaspora through initiatives like the GUBA Awards and GUBA Enterprise.
