In a heartwarming act of generosity and compassion, renowned Ghanaian businessman and philanthropist Mr. Ibrahim Mahama has once again demonstrated his commitment to making a difference in the lives of those in need.

This time, his kindness has been extended to 10-year-old Lisa Laryea, a student battling leukaemia, a critical health condition that has drawn widespread attention, particularly on social media.

After covering the cost of over $110,000 for her treatment, Mr. Mahama personally ensured that Lisa, accompanied by her mother, was flown to South Africa via an emergency chartered air ambulance on Sunday, 24 November 2024. The trip aims to provide her with specialised care and a fighting chance at recovery.

Mr. Mahama was present at Kotoka International Airport’s Terminal 2 to oversee the smooth facilitation of Lisa’s medical journey.

The entire cost of treatment is estimated at around 2 million South African Rand.

Speaking about this act of kindness, Mr. Mahama’s special aide, Rafik Mahama, said:

“When we learned about Lisa’s condition on social media, we knew we had to step in and help. Every child deserves the opportunity to live a healthy and happy life.

“When it comes to saving a human life, our Father and Boss, Mr. Ibrahim Mahama, doesn’t consider the cost. His empathy for humanity knows no bounds. He gives the instructions, and we ensure the job is done properly.

“Also, because the flight was a 6 a.m. scheduled charter, I got to Ridge Hospital at 3 a.m. to ensure everything was done properly, from transporting Lisa from the hospital to the airport. Doctors in South Africa are on standby, and by God’s grace, Lisa will come back stronger,” Rafik Mahama added.

For Lisa’s family, this act of kindness has been nothing short of a miracle. Her mother, overwhelmed with emotion, expressed profound gratitude to Mr. Mahama, saying:

“We never imagined that someone of his stature would care so deeply about our daughter’s health. He has given Lisa the gift of hope, and we will be forever grateful.”

This remarkable gesture has not only provided a glimmer of hope for Lisa’s recovery but also inspired widespread commendation from Ghanaians.

As Lisa embarks on her journey to healing, Ibrahim Mahama’s extraordinary generosity stands as a beacon of compassion, reminding everyone that acts of kindness, no matter the scale, can create ripples of positive change in society.
