Cynthia Mamle Morrison, the current Member of Parliament (Lady MP) for Agona West, has made grave charges against the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in a shocking turn of events. She says she has witnessed certain behind-the-scenes activities and will expose the NPP government if they continue to harass her.

She claims that the Electoral Commission (EC) and the NPP party are working together to prevent her from running in the next parliamentary elections. Morrison is currently running as an independent after failing to win her party’s nomination. She was open about her dissatisfaction with the NPP, a party she has been affiliated with for years, in an interview. She said that in order to keep her from being re-elected, party leaders had engaged in internal sabotage and dishonest tactics.

Morrison claimed that in order to guarantee that her name is not on the ballot for the elections scheduled for December 7, the NPP has collaborated closely with electoral officials. “I will not be silenced, but they have partnered with the Electoral Commission to make sure my name is not on the ballot. I’m determined to speak for the residents of Agona West because they deserve to have their voices heard,” she stated.

Morrison said she was disappointed with how she was treated during the primaries after spending a lot of time with the NPP. She disclosed that she lost the party’s support as a result of some party insiders deliberately undermining her efforts. She now asserts that the NPP is pursuing legal action against her in an effort to cease her campaign, but she is unflinching. She firmly declared, “The injunction is just another attempt to silence me, but I will not back down.”

Morrison described being publicly attacked by NPP members who reportedly disseminated untrue information about her. “I am aware of the facts, but the NPP has been openly targeting me by sending its supporters to disparage and spread false information about me. And if they continue to press me, I will reveal everything I know about this administration, starting with the president,” she vowed.

Additionally, she implied that she might have sensitive information about how the government is managing COVID-19 relief funds and that, should her campaign be further thwarted, she might divulge devastating proof of corruption.”I witnessed what transpired behind closed doors while I was a part of this administration during COVID-19. They are foolish if they believe that I will sit quietly while they play these games. She threatened, “I’ll make sure Ghanaians are fully aware of what’s happening with their leadership.”She said.

Cynthia Mamle Morrison is determined to run as an independent and promises to expose what she calls “the truth” about the NPP’s internal conflicts, despite the obstacles presented by her former party. Source: Mynewsgh
