New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Ing Kwabena Agyepong New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Ing Kwabena Agyepong

New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Ing Kwabena Agyepong has pledged to initiate the National Property Justice (NPJ), a principle he believes will safeguard state and party resources as a collective trust for all citizens and party members, not as private property for the privileged few.

According to him, the NPP must embody fairness, justice, and inclusivity if it is to restore public trust and remain true to its founding ideals of property-owning democracy.

“National Property Justice means political power and state resources cannot be appropriated by individuals or cliques. They belong to the people, and leadership must reflect stewardship and accountability,” he said.

Ing Agyepong stressed that his agenda would ensure fairness in appointments, opportunities and access to resources, while dismantling patronage systems that distort the true spirit of leadership and service.

Turning his attention to internal party matters, the former NPP General Secretary warned against what he described as the ‘creeping money syndrome’, which he said is gradually eroding the soul of the party.

He lamented the growing culture of money politics where loyalty and support are often purchased rather than earned through commitment and service.

“This creeping money culture has weakened the very foundation of our party. It sidelines loyal patriots and elevates those who can simply outspend others. Politics is becoming the preserve of moneybags instead of a calling to serve,” he cautioned.

Ing Agyepong vowed to spearhead sweeping reforms to curb the influence of money in internal contests, promote merit-based leadership and re-inspire grassroots confidence.

“With National Property Justice and by ending the creeping money culture, we will return the NPP to a movement of service and principle. The NPP must be a true home for patriots and the hope of Ghana,” he affirmed.
