Nigerian actress Adesua Etomi has opened up about a personal chapter in her life involving fertility struggles.

In a viral video captured online on June 13, 2025, Adesua revealed that she once went through IVF treatment in hopes of having twins, but lost the pregnancy.

Explaining that the pain, she said it was so intense it felt like they were grieving in different ways.

“It was a very tough moment for me and my husband,” she said,

Adesua Etomi also said she initially planned to undergo a second round of IVF but eventually decided against it.

She said, “It’s either God does it, or He doesn’t do it.”

Adesua went on to recount a powerful moment at church when a senior pastor told the couple there was nothing medically wrong with them and encouraged them to trust God.

He said the pastor asked them to give it six months.

“The pastor said this in February, and by May, I was pregnant,” she said.

Eventually, by the grace of God, Adesua gave birth to her first son, who is now four years old.

She also welcomed a second son last year, who is currently around seven months old.

Reflecting on their journey, the actress said the loss of their first pregnancy was incredibly painful.

However, she remains grateful to God for how things turned out.

“A lot of couples break up over issues like this, but in our case, we didn’t. God has been good to us,” she stated.
