Following the shocking news of the death of Freedom Party flagbearer Akua Donkor, Afia Schwarzenegger has claimed that she was the first person appointed as her running mate in 2015.

Afia shared photos of herself with the late politician on social media to prove their connection.

She also recounted a recent phone conversation with Roman Father and Madam Akua Donkor on October 25, where they fondly reminisced and shared a good laugh about the past.

“I was the 1st appointed running mate of Ghana Freedom Party in 2015. I know people will not believe it, so I went into my archives. Funnily but sad, I spoke with Roman father and Madam Akua Donkor on the phone last Friday, and we had a very good laugh about it,” she posted.

Afia concluded her post with a heartfelt tribute, saying, “Rest in perfect peace.”

News of Akua Donkor’s demise spread across social media in the early hours of October 29, 2024, prompting an outpouring of condolences from netizens to her family.

At 83 years old, she was number three on the ballot for the upcoming 2024 elections and was actively preparing for the polls, just 39 days away.

Prior to her demise, she promised a range of initiatives, including free vehicles for journalists, duty-free port services for goods clearance, free education, and improved remuneration for farmers.

Tributes have continued to pour in from netizens, family, loved ones, and supporters of her party.
