Renowned Ghanaian boxer, Braimah Isaac Kamoko, popularly known as Bukom Banku, has called on the Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama, to give him a prominent role in the security sector should he win the December 7 elections.

He stated that he has been a staunch supporter of the NDC, campaigning ahead of the elections, and is hopeful Mahama’s presidential bid will succeed despite varying prophecies by some pastors in the country.

Bukom Banku indicated that he is qualified for the role despite not having experience in the police service, adding that he will ensure peace prevails in Ghana.

“The prophets have been making varying prophecies concerning which candidate would win the 2024 general elections. For me, I know Mahama will be the victor. I pray he wins so that he can give me the IGP position.

“The role does not need much paperwork. The ultimate objective is to ensure there is peace in the country. There will be no noise in the country, and there will be orderliness. The fact that I have not been to the police does not mean I am not qualified for the role,” he said in Twi during an interview with Asempa FM.

Bukom Banku has been campaigning for John Mahama in the lead-up to the 2024 elections and remains hopeful for victory for the NDC.

The general elections are slated for December 7, 2024.
