Tiwa Savage is a Nigerian musician
Nigerian ‘Afrobeats queen,’ Tiwa Savage, who has been divorced since 2018 has stated that her love life is on pause, and she is blaming it on her sky-high standards.
In an interview on Apple Music 1, the singer spoke about her 2023 hit ‘Somebody’s Son’ and the kind of man she hopes to find.
The musician admitted that she is searching for love but will not compromise on her expectations, which include wealth, stability, and a life free of unnecessary drama.

Tiwa Savage noted that she wants a man who already lives a luxurious lifestyle and is emotionally uncomplicated, explaining that she cannot handle a partner with unresolved family issues, especially involving children from previous relationships.
“I’m still looking for someone’s son. I don’t have any [partner]. And I think it is because I’m asking for specific things. Maybe I need to narrow my search down. I’m actually looking for someone who has a private plane, yacht; someone who doesn’t have baby mama drama because I can’t deal with that. Maybe that’s my problem,” she said.

Her comments came after she disclosed in another interview with Zeze Mills that the only true love she has ever experienced is with her son, Jamil.
Looking back on her past relationships, the singer admitted that what she once thought was love was actually just infatuation.
“I’ve never felt true love except with my son. Looking back at my relationships, even my marriage, I realise it wasn’t love,” she said.
Tiwa Savage, who has spoken about her struggles in love before, also expressed doubt that she will ever find lasting romance.
“I’ve tried repeatedly, so maybe love isn’t meant for me in this lifetime. Maybe love isn’t for me because I have tried over and over again, so maybe love isn’t for me this lifetime,” she stated.
The singer married Tunji ‘TeeBillz’ Balogun in 2013, and they welcomed their son Jamil in 2015 but the couple divorced in 2018 and since then, Savage has remained single.
