Ghanaian filmmaker, KayPeevibez, has announced his decision to stop shooting music videos in the country.

In an interview with Zionfelix on February 10, 2025, Kay Peevibez said his decision to stop shooting music videos was due to the unfair treatment he had received from some musicians.

Buttressing his point, he claimed that after working on one of Amerado’s ‘Yeti Nsem’ videos, the artiste’s management failed to properly pay him for his efforts.

He stated that Amerado’s team offered him only GH¢300 for his work, which led to him abandoning the project.

“This is one of the reasons I stopped shooting music videos. The pay is poor, yet they still expect you to deliver your best. Amerado started with me during the lockdown. As his fame grew, and after his trip to the UK, we began working on Yeti Nsem. People started following Amerado because of my work. I was responsible for everything, from the introduction to the visuals of Yeti Nsem,” KayPeevibez narrated.

He continued, “A lot of things happened, which is why I left his camp, because I can’t be working with someone, and when we started making money, his team brought a contract stating that they were going to pay me GH¢300. I was there when Amerado reached out to me and told me his plans. And I told him my ideas and what he should do.”

He further disclosed that he began filming Amerado’s “Yeti Nsem” using his own equipment, with the agreement that he would be responsible for filming the musician during his rise to fame.

However, he stated that the rapper’s management went against their initial agreement.

“I started Yeti Nsem with my equipment. They bought their own cameras in the third month of our filming. Before we started, I told Amerado that I wanted to push him, and when he became famous, I would be the person in charge of his music videos. Also, my work with him would earn me other jobs from different artistes.

“Can you believe I was there when they brought Gordon to shoot his official music video? Also, he brought in a different director to shoot his second music video with Okyeame Kwame. And these are the reasons why I stopped working for him,” he added.
