Renowned sports journalist, Dan Kwaku Yeboah has raised concerns about the location of the National Cathedral project, initiated by former President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo.
He commended the project’s initiative, stating that it will enhance the Christian religion and project its values to the public and foreign tourists.
However, Yeboah noted that the location is not ideal due to the area’s congestion and proximity to various government institutions.
The Peace FM journalist stated that the project should have been situated in a less crowded area, which would have improved the area and promoted tourist activities.
“I am a Christian, but I disagreed with the location of the cathedral. I fully support the idea of building a cathedral to serve God, but where it was built is where I disagreed. Building it at a place like Dawhenya would have been good to enhance the area,” he said in Twi while speaking on Peace FM.
The National Cathedral project aims to build a national place of worship symbolizing unity and spirituality for Ghanaians.
The project’s idea was to create a space for citizens to come together to pray, reflect, and seek solace in times of need.
How the project has stalled after the state, according to Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, the Member of Parliament for North Tongu allegedly pumped $53million into the project.
