Ghanaian actress and fashion icon Zynnell Zuh has strongly challenged the misconception that people in the entertainment industry lack intelligence.

In an interview with Graphic Showbiz, Zynnell expressed her frustration with the stereotype that entertainers are less intelligent or have failed in other aspects of life.

“The stereotype that people in showbiz aren’t intelligent is something I strongly disagree with. Balancing creativity, business, and strategy requires a high level of intelligence and versatility,” she said.

She added, “Many creatives are well educated and use their platforms to positively impact society. It’s important to challenge this misconception and celebrate the diverse talents within the industry.”

Zynnell, who holds a BA in Geography and Information Studies from the University of Ghana, an LLB from Mountcrest University College, and recently completed her Master of Laws (LLM) degree at BPP University in the UK, emphasised that these academic achievements will help her offer more meaningful content to her audience through thought-provoking films, empowering fashion, and impactful charity work.

Her comment reiterates that of her fellow actor John Dumelo, who has also spoken against the notion that entertainers should stay out of politics.

Dumelo, the newly elected MP for the Ayawaso West Wuogon constituency, argued that a person’s profession should not limit their ability to serve the public effectively.
