Ghanaian gospel musician Empress Gifty has expressed concern over the threatening calls she often receives from unknown individuals regarding her husband.

In an interview on Mahyease TV, the “Jesus Over Do” singer, married to Hopeson Adorye, a former staunch NPP member who defected to Alan Kyerematen’s ‘Movement for Change’, disclosed that she often receives late-night calls with threats against his life.

Despite the seriousness of these threats, Empress Gifty said she remains unbothered, attributing her peace to her faith in God’s protection.

“I always receive a lot of calls from some people threatening to take the life of my husband. But I understand the work we do, so you need to have spiritual backing. So sometimes when I see or hear these things, I try my best to attack it from the spiritual side by praying,” she said.

Contrary to the assertion that her husband is feisty and outspoken like her, Empress Gifty emphasised,

“My husband is a peaceful person who barely talks at home. If you will hear him talking then he is calling to tell you he is hungry. People shouldn’t be deceived by what they see on television or social media,” she added.

The couple married in 2018 and have since been together for six years.
