Media personality MzGee has expressed dismay over the way some artistes and celebrities speak about women, using vulgar language with no regard for dignity or decency.
After openly sharing her personal experiences with sabotage and body shaming from fellow women on her Gee O’clock show, she turned her attention to what she said is an equally troubling issue — the casual disrespect of women by public figures, particularly within the entertainment industry.
“Your favorite artiste and celebrity… I may like their songs and whatever, but just when they begin to have the guts to insult a woman’s private part, people’s mothers’ private parts, they’ve lost all the respect,” she said. “Because it shows you don’t respect yourself. I just pity them because I feel they were not brought up well.”
Her concern didn’t stop at the men spewing the insults. She also questioned the silence and sometimes complicity of the women who continue to endorse, support, or even engage with such individuals.
“I pity the women who also go and open up for them to sleep with,” she added. “Anything that has got to do with a woman’s dignity can be protected.”
MzGee’s comments follow a broader reflection on how women often endure harmful treatment, not just from men, but from each other. On the same show, she revisited earlier parts of her career where she faced subtle jabs, invasive comments about motherhood, and relentless body shaming — most of it from other women.
