The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, Abla Dzifa Gomashie, has said she is committed to working and making a lasting impact.

She said this on her first day at work, which was on Monday, January 27, 2025.

Dzifa Gomashie, who was welcomed by the Director of Human Resources, and the Acting Chief Director of the ministry, Vittus Otto Langmagne, also met with directors and the management team of the ministry to deliberate on the way forward.

Emphasising the importance of teamwork and collaboration, the minister pledged her commitment to pursuing the vision of President John Dramani Mahama for the ministry, and urged the management team to deliver on their part of the bargain.

She highlighted the importance of inclusive tourism growth, with a focus on culture and creative arts to ensure that the benefits of the ministry are shared equitably among all stakeholders.

Reflecting on the enormity of the task ahead, Gomashie said she remains optimistic and resolute in driving tourism growth, creating opportunities, and making a positive impact.

“While I may not be new to this ministry, I am open to learning new things, and I am confident that together, we can achieve great things.

“I am excited to embark on this journey and I look forward to working with each and every one of you,” she added.

Although it her first day at work in this administration, Dzifa Gomashie was Deputy Minister of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts from 2013 to 2017 when John Mahama served his first term as Ghana’s president.

This time, in what is a promotion, she has returned to the helm of the ministry to serve as sector minister.
