The Member of Parliament (MP) for Nhyieso, Stephen Amoah, popularly known as Sticka, has refuted allegations that he had an affair with Abigail Aboagye, the widow of the former NADMO Deputy Director Samuel Aboagye, one of the 8 victims of the August 6, 2025, horrific helicopter crash.
The Nhyieso MP said that even though he knows Abigail Aboagye, he had not seen her for several years.
He only met her during the funeral of her husband, which makes it impossible for him to be the father of the three-year-old daughter of the widow, as alleged.
“I have no issues with anyone in the family. I don’t know any of them, not even the young man (Samuel Aboagye)… I knew the lady seven years ago, but I had not seen her for the past seven years, till recently, when I was invited to her husband’s funeral, which I attended.
“I don’t know her husband anywhere… For over seven years, the only time I saw her was at the funeral, where I asked how she was doing,” he said in the Twi dialect.
Sticka indicated that because he had not seen the widow for a long time, he even mistook her for her sister at the funeral.
“Do you know that when I went to the funeral, her sister, who looked like her, tried to hug me? But thinking it was her, Abigail Aboagye, I rejected the hug and told her that widows are not supposed to be doing this. And the sister said that, ‘Honourable, you are mistaking me for AB, I’m not AB ooo.’ This is now serious; it is,” he said.
He added that though he has his faults, he will never father a child with a married woman.
“Do I look like someone who will father a child with someone’s wife? Why, am I crazy?” he quizzed.

He reiterated, “For the past six to seven years, I have never seen her. The last time I met and exchanged pleasantries with her was at the funeral.”
The family of the late Samuel Aboagye took his widow, Abigail Aboagye, to the Obuasi District Court, demanding a DNA test over alleged suspicions of an affair with an unnamed Member of Parliament (MP) from the Ashanti Region.
According to reports, Abigail Aboagye has refused to hand over their three-year-old child for the DNA test.
Several media sources, including a statement from Nana Kwabena Gyamera Oyiakwan II, Chief of Adansi Kwapia and elder brother of the late Samuel Aboagye, allege that the widow may have had a “close friendship” with the said MP.
The family insists on conducting a DNA test to confirm the paternity of the child.
