Legendary boxing trainer Don Charles has said that he is planning to build an academy in Ghana to groom young ones who aspire to venture into boxing in the near future.
According to him, he has noticed there is an infrastructural deficit when it comes to boxing in the country, which is hindering the progress of young potential in Ghana.
The Nigerian boxing trainer noted that he is committed to investing in sports in the country to contribute towards its growth and make an impact.
Speaking in an interview with Emmanuel Enin on Sports Check aired on GhanaWeb TV, Don Charles disclosed that he intends to relocate to Ghana to focus on his ambition.
“I plan to reside in Ghana, build a boxing academy here, and groom more talent and support the young ones. Also to bridge the gap in infrastructure and support. We are here to give them a foundation to improve their potential,” he said.
It is worth noting that Don Charles is the trainer for reigning IBF World Heavyweight Champion, Daniel Dubois, who has distinguished himself in the boxing fraternity globally.
