Hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone has expressed concern over what he describes as a division within Ghana’s music industry.
Speaking on Starr Chat with Bola Ray on November 27, 2025, Rockstone said internal feuds and constant rivalry have made it difficult for the industry to present a united front, especially when meeting with corporate bodies.
“Let me begin with my own people. We ourselves are so divided that we don’t have a united front to even go sit with these folks (corporate). We are so fragmented. Every day, you hear that this person and that person are beefing,” he said.

He placed part of the blame on fans, whom he described as major instigators of conflicts between artistes.
“Everybody, including the fans who are the major people fueling these feuds, is to blame,” he noted.
Asked whether he has personally attempted to unite the industry, the Hiplife legend said he has been working quietly behind the scenes.
“Almost everybody. I have always been working behind the scenes to bring people together,” he said.
Rockstone outlined education and collective awareness as key solutions to uniting artistes in the industry.
“We need to let them know that we are all in this together. That if I eat, you will also eat,” he said.
He also called on the government to pay closer attention to the needs and potential of the youth, while he charged musicians to put their house ‘in order’.
“To the government, pay attention to the youth. And in the same breath, I’m talking to my own people saying, get your act together,” he stressed.
