Broadcast journalist Serwaa Amihere has explained why she objected to being recorded while going to court, stating that her legal career should be treated with professionalism and respect.

Speaking in an interview on Angel FM on December 17, 2025, Serwaa Amihere clarified that her decision had nothing to do with hostility towards bloggers or content creators.

“I don’t have any issue with any of the bloggers. The majority of them are my friends,” she said.

She explained that although she works in television, her role as a lawyer is entirely different and should not be subjected to media attention.

“I’ve heard a lot of people saying that I do TV so camera shouldn’t a problem but they are two different jobs. Law is not about camera,” she noted.

Serwaa Amihere disclosed that she is currently a pupil lawyer, undergoing her professional training, and is keen on maintaining a high level of discipline as she begins her legal journey.

“I’m not the only Lawyer, I’m actually a pupil and I’m going through pupillage. I want to bring some high level of professionalism to what I’m doing,” she stated.

According to her, she does not mind being recorded in public or media spaces, but court proceedings and legal work should be treated differently.

“If you see me going anywhere or the studio, you can video me all you want and I don’t have a problem with that. When I’m going to court, it’s a total different business altogether,” she explained.

She added that her law firm discourages unnecessary publicity, preferring that their work speaks for itself.

“I like to keep my law profession just as it is. It’s not a media playground. I wasn’t angry but I just said he shouldn’t record me because I’m a baby Lawyer, I’m now beginning my journey.

“My bosses don’t like that. I work in a firm and my bosses don’t like the noise. They want our work to speak for itself,” she shared.

Serwaa Amihere further expressed concern that recording her in such moments could inadvertently capture other lawyers who may not wish to be filmed.

“There might be some lawyers around who wouldn’t want to be recorded but they would definitely appear in the video since they’re recording me, which is not nice,” she added.
