AS Monaco defender Mohammed Salisu has stated that he has made progress in his development as a player.
Having spent a chunk of his first season on the nursing bed, Salisu has become a key player for the French Ligue 1 side after joining the side from Southampton.
However, speaking to the club’s media, the former Real Valladolid central defender expressed his development so far.
“I think I have progressed with and without the ball. With our way of playing, we play with the ball very often,” he told the club’s media.
“As a defender, we have to be good with the ball at our feet and without the ball, I feel like I am winning more duels and making more interceptions compared to last season,” Salisu added.
Salisu made his seventh appearance of the season in Monaco’s 2-1 loss to Olympique Marseille over the weekend. Despite the defeat, Monaco remains third in the Ligue 1 standings.
The team will aim to bounce back in their next fixture, hosting Toulouse FC at Stade Louis II on Sunday, December 8.
