Entertainment enthusiast and media personality Tilly Akua Nipaa has expressed concerns about the future management of the late Daddy Lumba’s estate and legacy.

According to her, no member of Lumba’s family appears to have the training or interest required to preserve and manage his body of work.

“Nobody in Lumba’s family has been trained to take over and properly manage his estates and legacy, who has the good will to ask elders how it is to be managed”

She further explained that although music is serious business, many Ghanaian musicians do not treat it as such and often fail to prepare their children to take over when they are gone.

“Ghanaian musicians they don’t see the work they do as a legacy they can leave behind for their children. Their lyrics, their songs and the career they build in music it is as much a business as in any field” she said

Citing an example, she referenced Sarkodie and Stonebwoy’s appearance on Bob Marley’s Africa Unite project, which earned a Grammy nomination, as evidence of how a well-managed legacy can continue to grow long after an artiste’s passing.

“We were all in this country when Sarkodie and Stonebwoy jumped on Bob Marley’s project which won a Grammy. Bob Marley has been dead for years but because there is a thinking mind who manages his estates and legacy well, they are making money and building more legacy,” she said.

She added, “As far as I know and have seen the family do, there’s no hope for Lumba’s estate and legacy.”
