Ghanaian musician Darkovibes has shared that he has been arrested multiple times by the police due to his admission of using marijuana.

During an interview with Accra-based TV3, Darkovibes mentioned that he often gets picked up right after studio sessions or performances, and is subjected to lengthy searches.

Despite these encounters, Darkovibes maintains a positive relationship with many police officers.

“They bother me a lot. But… I have a very good relationship with many police officers, okay? They have arrested me numerous times. Not just after a studio session, but also after a show, they can detain me and search me for up to 4 hours,” he said.

In a message to his fans, Darkovibes advised them to act responsibly, especially when it comes to smoking and other habits.

He also encouraged everyone to be mindful of their impact on society.

“Whatever we do, we advise every young person, every adult, every child to do it responsibly. Because in the end, you have a role to fulfill in society, in your community. We all have our flaws that are not ideal. I know for a fact that I’m not perfect. But we should all handle our actions responsibly,” he said.

Darkovibes also clarified previous reports about his behavior backstage, stating that he does not carry illegal substances and considers himself a law-abiding citizen.

He emphasised that any claims suggesting otherwise were misunderstandings of his words.
