Ghanaian actress and media personality Akuapem Poloo has added her voice to calls for a state burial for the late Daddy Lumba.

According to her, Daddy Lumba’s legendary status is unmatched, making him deserving of every honour.

Speaking to GhanaWeb at the one-week celebration of Daddy Lumba on August 30, 2025, Poloo shared her personal encounter with the music icon, dating back to 2010.

She recounted how she had the opportunity to perform alongside Daddy Lumba during that year’s Akropong Festival.

“The only memory I have of him was in 2010 at the Akropong Festival, where I had the opportunity to perform with him. It was so much fun. I still can’t believe he is gone; maybe he’s still alive. I just don’t want to believe it,” she shared.

She added that it would be fitting for Charles Kwadwo Fosu [Daddy Lumba] to be honoured and buried as a legend, given the milestones he achieved during his life.

“I wish they could give him a state burial and build a museum in his honour, where people can come and visit. If Ghanaians think there’s more they can do to honour him, he deserves it. He is a great legend,” she noted.

Daddy Lumba passed away on July 26, 2025. He is widely regarded as one of Ghana’s most influential and celebrated musicians, with a career spanning over three decades.
