Ghanaian rapper Amerado has revealed that he does not enjoy being a musician, stating he only got into music because he needed to survive.

Speaking in an interview on Hitz FM, the ‘Kweku Ananse’ hitmaker shared that his main reason for starting his music career was to make a living.

“The main reason I got into music was to survive; I just wanted to eat. Most of the time, I don’t even enjoy being an artiste,” he said.

Amerado explained that being an artiste comes with a lot of restrictions and expectations that make the lifestyle difficult.

“I feel restricted. Whenever you’re in public, especially in traffic, you’re expected to hand out money to fans,” he added.

He further explained that maintaining the lifestyle of a musician is challenging.

“The maintenance no be easy,” he said.

When asked what career he would have chosen if not music, Amerado revealed that he would have pursued football.
