Veteran journalist Kwami Sefa Kayi has shared his thoughts on Black Stars forward Mohammed Kudus missing a penalty when the team lost to Niger 2-1 at the Accra Sports Stadium on November 18, 2024.

The journalist, who is vocal about issues relating to the Black Stars, noted that Kudus’ penalty miss in the last moments of the game, which could have earned the team a draw, was worrying.

He stated that he felt bad for Kudus, especially at a time when the goal could have helped him regain his confidence in the team and improve his performance.

Speaking on Peace FM, Sefa Kayi, reacting to Kudus’ penalty miss, commented, “I felt bad for him with the penalty miss.”

Kudus, captaining the Black Stars against Niger, did not have the best performance as he struggled to make an impact throughout the game.

The crucial moment was when the West Ham United player won a penalty in the last minute of the game and missed it, to the dismay of many Ghanaians.

The 2-1 defeat to Niger meant that the team could not win any of the six matches they played in the 2025 AFCON qualifiers.

In Group F, Angola and Sudan qualified, while Ghana and Niger failed to progress to the main competition.
