Yaw Berk is a Ghanaian artiste
Ghanaian artiste, Yaw Berk, has opened up on stepping back from his rap roots to explore singing.
Speaking in an interview on Joy Prime on July 31, 2025, Yaw Berk said he feels people now mostly relate to his singing style than the rap.
“Now I’m doing more of the singing, I feel comfortable with it now. I feel like people hear you a lot more in that way than the rap” he said.
He continued, “Someone can barely rap Sarkodie’s whole lines but the chorus part, they always get it.”
Yaw Berk said he realised singing boosts his craft to a wider reach.
“I realised that’s the part that makes your songs a lot more commercial to reach borders and across borders,” he stated.
He added, “So now I prefer singing to rapping. You can put me on the spot or I can put myself on the spot like I want to rap in a song and I can still do it.”
