Ernestina Akosua Brempongmaa, sister of the late Ghanaian Highlife singer Daddy Lumba, has called for non-members of the Fosu family to be removed from the planning of the musician’s funeral ceremony.
In a media interaction on November 3, 2025, after she, together with the family head, Kofi Owusu, appeared before Otumfour’s Saamanhene, Ernestina Brempongmaa warned that the Fosu family does not want persons other than family members to be in the planning of his late brother’s funeral.
She explained that the family is grieving the loss of their beloved brother and father; therefore, the funeral committee involving outsiders should be dissolved, adding that the Fosu family is not ready to trade insults with anyone in their time of pain.
“The family has lost their beloved one, so I don’t need any outsider there except my family. I don’t need any strangers as a committee to come and insult us in our time of grief,” she said.

Ernestina Brempongmaa additionally noted that the Fosu family needs to unite during these hard times so they can peacefully bury the late Daddy Lumba.
“My brother has died, and I need people to console me, not to come and insult me; therefore, I don’t need any strangers. But what we need is unity so that Charles can be put to rest peacefully. There is no committee to me because there is nothing they can do for me,” she added.
