Ghana and Hearts of Oak goalkeeper Benjamin Asare says he remains unfazed by criticism and public opinions as he continues to establish himself as first-choice goalkeeper for both club and country.
The highly-rated goalie has enjoyed an outstanding campaign and has become one of the most talked-about players in Ghanaian football following his rise to becoming a mainstay in the Black Stars.
Speaking in a recent interview with 3Sports, the experienced goalkeeper admitted mistakes are part of football and life but insisted he refuses to let criticism affect his mentality.
“So I don’t worry about people’s opinion. I know we can make mistakes in life, but I don’t let that burden me. Today, I can mistake, but tomorrow I can achieve something great. So, I don’t let some things worry me that much. My encouragement is that God helps me maintain the level that I am now,” Asare said.
The 33-year-old also spoke about the hard work behind his journey, stressing that his rise to the national team did not happen overnight.
“I’m a committed goalkeeper. Those who don’t know me will think I came from nowhere to the Black Stars,” he added.
Benjamin Asare made his Black Stars debut against Chad in March 2025 and has since cemented his place as Ghana’s number one goalkeeper.
He has kept 14 clean sheets this season and is expected to return to action for Hearts of Oak against Aduana FC tomorrow after missing the club’s last game against Karela United.
