After years of making music, Cina Soul has finally released her debut album, a project she describes as her biggest achievement yet.

“I’ve always wanted to drop an album, but I felt I wasn’t ready. It’s a full body of work, and I needed time to create it,” she told KMJ on Joy Prime monitored by MyNewsGh.

She admitted that the process was exhausting. “I don’t know how people create albums every year. It took me almost two and a half years to make this one.

“Recording so many songs and shortlisting them to 10 or 12 was tough. Everyone had opinions—my team, marketing experts—but I had to follow my heart.”

Cina Soul also revealed the challenges of collaborating with songwriters. “I’ve always written my own songs, but this time, I allowed myself to work with songwriters. It was uncomfortable at first, but even the greatest artists have songwriters. It doesn’t make me any less of an artist.”

When asked about the album’s title, she explained, “I called it ‘Did I Lie?’ because I didn’t lie about my talent, my songwriting, my vocal ability, or my versatility. This album proves all of that.”

She remains optimistic about the album’s success. “The reception has been great so far, but the pressure is real. With a single, you have one marketing plan, but with an album, you have to push every song while balancing the lead single. We haven’t slept in weeks!”
