Popular Ghanaian food entrepreneur and social media personality, Aba Dope, has revealed that she currently has 96 workers, many of whom she said were nurtured from the streets and trained into professionals.

Speaking in an interview with Giovani Caleb on TV3 on January 25, 2026, Aba Dope described her workers as a blessing and credited them for the steady growth of her business over the past five years.

“I’ve been so lucky with workers. The workers I had were God-sent. Even when I travelled out to deliver my baby, they were still loyal to me,” she said.

According to Aba Dope, one of the major challenges she has faced in the food business has to do with customers’ food preferences, especially when it comes to spices.

“When it comes to challenges, customers’ preferences, we do standard foods, continental and local. Some people are allergic to too much spices, they want their food to be regular without pepper so I had challenges over there,” she stated.

Despite these challenges, Aba Dope noted that her business has seen significant growth since its establishment five years ago, largely due to her commitment to training and empowering young people.

“I’ve been running the business for five years and I have 96 workers currently. Most of the guys I work with are all street guys. I was trying to help them,” she disclosed.

She added that several of her staff members joined the business as dispatch riders but were later trained and promoted to professional chefs.

“Some of them came as dispatch riders and they went through training to be chefs now. I nurtured all of them, taught them how to cook and my recipes,” she added.
