A Nigerian woman has revealed her peculiar habit of washing watermelon with soap and water before consumption.

Sharing on TikTok, the woman @zaragisttv confessed that she cannot eat watermelon she washes it thoroughly with soap and water.

She questioned if the consumers knew the number of individuals who had handled the same watermelon before they purchased it. She stressed the importance of maintaining personal hygiene as life has no duplicate.

The viral clip displayed the woman cleaning the watermelon’s edible portion with a sponge dipped in liquid detergent.

The woman has suggested that Internet users develop the practice of cleaning their watermelon before eating it.

The woman’s unusual practice has drawn criticism from viewers who claim it is unhealthy and that her goal was to become popular on social media.

    Below are some comments,

@Preshy Silva U bought 2 watermelon waste 1 and ate the other one 😂

@debbiebella_ ❌ But this is bad and unhealthy information to put out there… For the sake of young ones ❌

@cleanbuddies_s This is unsafe to consume, and you should not put your life in danger to create content.

@ultraduke I’m disappointed FR the soap is not enough to wash the water melon, u don’t have Wawa or OMO?
