Ghanaian socialite Efia Odo has fired back at critics after her recent post predicting victory for Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia in the 2024 December general elections sparked controversy online.

In an X post on December 4, 2024, Efia Odo insisted that those who claim she was paid to make such predictions are mistaken, adding that she cannot be swayed by money.

“Not everyone can be bought with money! I am bought by the blood of Jesus Christ. Only hungry people see money as everything. I am not hungry,” she wrote.

She further clarified that her post was not an endorsement, but rather a statement of her belief.

“That’s the problem with many of you , you read but don’t understand. I never asked you to vote for him. I just proclaimed that he is our next president, whether you vote for him or not,” she added.

Efia Odo‘s comments come at a time when several social media influencers have publicly declared support for one political party or another.

Recently, popular influencer Kalyjay also faced backlash after appearing on stage at a National Democratic Congress (NDC) rally on the University of Ghana campus.
