Ghanaian entertainment pundit MC Portfolio has expressed disappointment in Sarkodie after the rapper took to social media to lash out at the media and popular filmmaker Yaw Skyface over claims that he failed to show up for a video shoot.

Yaw Skyface, during a ‘phone-in’ interview with DJ Slim, disclosed that Sarkodie did not show up for the music video shoot of Kofi Mole’s “Makoma,” a track on which he (Sarkodie) featured.

In response, the Sark Nation boss fumed on social media, asking both the filmmaker and journalists to allow his name to rest.

However, speaking in response to this on Hitz FM on January 29, 2025, MC Portfolio criticised what he described as Sarkodie’s disregard for the media in the country.

He emphasised that Sarkodie should show more appreciation for traditional media, which according to him, played a crucial role in his career’s success.

“To create the narrative that the media has been setting an agenda that we should make you rest… I beg to differ, King Sark. If there is any fraternity that has given you enough props for your contribution to where Ghana’s music industry has come, the media always give you that.

“Even in times when you disrespected us, we didn’t take offence. In fact, we even felt you had betrayed the media by claiming that we had no hand in your rise, and instead credited social media, which was simply untrue. Yet, the media took it cool. But we know the role that even Multimedia played in building your brand,” he said.

MC Portfolio further emphasised that the media had never been against Sarkodie and asked him to dispel such a notion.

“There is no receipt where King Sark can tell me that the media has ever ignited a conversation where Sark has treated his fellow artiste. Every allegation that has been levelled against him is said by his peers, legends, and generations after him. I didn’t come to tweet that you didn’t give me a response… Kofi Mole is aware of the narrative and tag on him that you are non-responsive and you have been cold towards your colleagues,” he added.
