Rising Ghanaian musician, Jubed has expressed optimism, noting that he hopes to be the new face so far as Afrobeat is concerned.
In a video shared on X where the musician was seen performing his much anticipated single “Ruwa” on GlitchAfrica, Jubed noted that he hopes to be the face of Afrobeat in five years time.
Citing Rema as an example, Jubed noted that the Nigerian musician proclaims positivity in his life, therefore he is also optimistic that his word of affirmation would come to past.
“So my style is basically Afrobeat but I use my cultural background in it. I am a Northern so I put it into it to make it sound unique and lovely as well. I don’t have a word around it but now I would call it Afrobeat.
“I will say I am the future. That is what Rema said and it got him to where he is. I feel like I am also going to do that. I won’t copy him but put the word into existence. I am the future and in five years, I know I am going to change the world at a point, he said.
Explaining the inspiration behind his “Ruwa” song, Jubed noted that the song talks about water and beauty.
According to the “Ruwa” hitmaker, people should be careful about who they allow in their lives.
“So the inspiration behind this song is about a heart it’s actually about a heartbeat. People think that it’s a jamming song. So Ruwa means water which also mean beauty in Arabic.
“So he was telling you to be careful of whoever you bring into your life. Just the same way water can drown you, there’s the same way beauty can drown you at a point,” he added.
