Former Ghana Soccer Affiliation (GFA) Vice President George Afriyie has expressed dissatisfaction with the absence of key Black Stars gamers, together with Thomas Partey, Joseph Paintsil, and Osman Bukari, throughout the crew’s essential matches in opposition to Sudan within the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) qualifiers.

The GFA attributed Partey’s absence to medical causes whereas stating that Bukari and Paintsil have been unavailable because of unspecified accidents sustained in earlier video games. Nonetheless, Afriyie stays unconvinced by these explanations and has voiced his issues.

Chatting with Pleasure Sports activities, Afriyie questioned the validity of the explanations offered for the gamers’ absence. “I’m not satisfied by the sort of excuses being given for why Partey, Paintsil, and Bukari couldn’t come.

They simply need you to take them and settle for them,” he remarked.

The absence of those gamers has been a focus of criticism, particularly following the Black Stars‘ scoreless attract Accra and the 2-0 defeat within the reverse fixture held in Libya.

Afriyie believes the GFA wants to supply clearer solutions concerning the crew’s struggles and the absence of those key gamers.

Ghana’s qualification for AFCON 2025 is now in critical jeopardy.

With solely two factors from 4 matches, the Black Stars are in third place of their group, going through the potential of lacking the event for the primary time in 20 years. The crew should win their remaining two video games in opposition to Niger and Angola in November to face an opportunity of qualifying.
