American actor Jamie Foxx has been making headlines after his emotional speech at the just ended 2025 BET Awards.

During the 25th edition of the event in Los Angeles on Monday, the actor reflected on his near-fatal health scare and thanked God for granting him another chance at life.

One would recall that the award-winning entertainer suffered a brain bleed that led to a stroke in April 2023 while filming his Netflix project.

But reflecting on the ordeal during the 2025 BET awards, Jammie Foxx said, “When I saw that in a memoriam, I said that could have been me, but I don’t know why I went through what I went through. But I know my second chance, I’m not going to turn it down. I have so much love to give.”

While pointing to God and appearing emotional, Foxx continued: “I told Him, I said, ‘Bro, just give me one more crack at this, and I promise, I said, whatever reason You put this on me, I promise I’m going to do right.'”

While delivering his speech, Jammie Foxx’s daughters, Anelise Bishop and Corinne Foxx, were captured in the audience crying.

This development has since sparked a wave of reactions online, with netizens expressing their sympathy for Jamie Foxx and his family.
