Abdul Rashid Ayitey, known by his stool name Nii Adjetey Donkor

The Chief of Kotoku Sabama in the Greater Accra Region, Abdul Rashid Ayitey, known by his stool name Nii Adjetey Donkor, was on Friday November 21, 2025, spotted at the Eastern Naval Command in Tema as he underwent medical screening as part of the 2025 Ghana Armed Forces (GAF) recruitment exercise.

The traditional leader joined hundreds of hopeful applicants seeking to qualify for enlistment into the military, insisting that his position as a chief does not prevent him from pursuing his personal ambitions.

Speaking during an interview at the screening grounds, the chief stated that he had join the recruitment process to “fight for his own future.”

“I’m just here to fight for my own future,” he said.

The interviewer questioned whether the physical demands of the military might conflict with the traditional restrictions placed on chiefs, such as not running or performing certain tasks in public. But the chief insisted he was ready to comply with military discipline.

“I’m a man of authority…If I command, people can do it. But as far as I’m here, if you command me, I’ll also do it,” he said.
