The Oti Regional Minister-designate, John Kwadwo Gyapong, drew unexpected praises from the members of the Appointments Committee of Parliament and the audience during his vetting on Thursday, January 23, 2025.

Kwadwo Gyapong, who was hoping to prove to the members of the committee that he is the right man for the job, successfully proved his ‘potency’ to the whole world.

The minister-designate, during his introductory remarks, proudly stated that he is a father of 10 children.

“From 1993 to 2001, I had the privilege to represent my constituency in Parliament, as the Member of Parliament of the Akan Constituency. Again, I had the privilege to represent my constituency from 2005 to 2009.

“I’m a married man with 10 kids, I’m also a businessman, an astute politician. As I speak to you, I’m the regional chairman of the NDC in the Oti Region,” he said.

The mention of the 10 children led to reactions from the MPs and the audience, who appeared to be in shock.

One man in the audience could be heard saying, “He is the man.”

The minister-designate was also beaming with smiles because of the reactions to his statement.
